Joy World Universal Church

      Joy World Universal Church is a combination of two churches, Joy World Mission Church and Christ Universal Ministries that merged in January 2010. The Merger Committee hired the services of Blackwell Burke PA Law Firm located downtown Minneapolis to handle the legal aspects of the merger. On November 19, 2009 the ARTICLE OF INCORPORATION was filed with the State of Minnesota and the name JOY WORLD UNIVERSAL CHURCH was registered.  A committee was appointed to write the By-Laws and Constitution for the new church.
     The church comprises primarily of Liberian immigrants and is generally non-denominational though it was recently affiliated with the Mid-American Baptist Churches.  Its membership is open to anyone who professes faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God and holds the Holy Bible at the true Word of the only True and Living God. 
        The church is congregationally governed and has an Executive Committee as its highest desicion making body. The Senior Pastor is the head and chair of the Executive Committee.
         

What We Believe
Doctrine

We believe that:

A. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and is the sole authority for faith, practice and discipline. 

B. There is one living and true God in three persons, “Father, Son & Holy Spirit.”

C. God created the world in six days and that man and woman were created directly by God in His own image.

D. Man, by Adam’s disobedience, fell into sin so all mankind is now sinful.  

 E. Jesus was begotten of the Holy Spirit in a miraculous manner and was born of the virgin Mary. He is the Son of God

F. The only way to salvation is by grace through faith. Salvation was made possible by Jesus Christ, living and dying for our sin and He rose from the dead, having conquered sin and death.

G. The gospel is the message that salvation is available through belief in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

H. The local church is an organized congregation of believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel.

I. The two ordinances of the church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

J. Christian baptism is the complete immersion of a believer in water.

K. Jesus will come again.
